In this situation Chinese Architectural Coatings industry have not enough independent ability to occupy world-coating market. Therefore, a national authoritative scientific research institution -------The Engineering Research Center of Architectural Coatings, Ministry of Construction, P, R China (Engineering Center for short) is established as required, which will promote coating industry development.

The Engineering Research Center of Architectural Coatings was established in Mar.2003, which is directly belonging to the Department of Science and Technology, Ministry of Construction, and it is found together by Shenzhen Oceanpower Industrial, Shanghai Academe of Architectural Science, Changzhou academe of Coating and Chemical, North Academe of Coating Industry and Dalian Zhenbang Industrial of fluorine Coating.

Engineering Center will perform in different technological cooperation as follows: scientific research, appraisal, industrialization and application of architectural coating, material disposal theory, constructing technology innovation, qualification authentication, information exchange and international cooperation. We also work in aspects such as establish and popularize technological standards, offer decision-making consultations for government. The purpose is to advance industry technical level and promote the continual development.
